New signatures series for the forthcoming documentary movie on João Gilberto, The Bossa Nova Man. Due to be released worldwide, it will present never seen before images of him in concerts and backstage footage. The signage uses Avant Garde, a typeface designed by Herb Lubalin in the 60s, the same period that musical movement appeared. As for the red dots on “bossa nova”, this is a tribute to Cesar Villela and the magnificent album covers he has designed for Elenco, the record company responsible for releasing the best Brazilian musicians at that time.
